DC women--and men--leave no detail untopped when it comes to their outfits; on Saturday everyone was sporting trilbies, fedoras, newsboys, and wide-brims, even mother/daughter duos like our friends Jessie and her daughter Emma!  If only they made a trilby that fit over these ears of mine (and stayed on after multiple body wiggles, scratchings, squirrel races, and lightpost/streetsign/grasstuft sniffs). 

Mama's new necklace is bananas. And thanks to Gwen Stefani, I can spell that.

This is one of mama's more interesting thrift store finds.  Hell, I"ve never seen such beauty.  Bananas? On a string?  With beads?  Hello Prada SS2011!

We stopped Anna because I was loving her combo of leopard, lace, and polka dots!  Bringing a little wilderness to the ladylike!

While killing some time at Barney's we discovered this little number, the Bunker Tote, by Helmut Lang.  Now I love me some Helmut, but I need a "Helmut" to protect my head from the 2x4' of obviousness I'm being smacked with. 

The question: boobs? or bajingos?  or both? 

Makes the flesh color of the leather all the more unsettling, doesn't it?

Hoodie (street) + canvas jacket (classic) + button-up/cuffed pants (menswear) + oxfords with socks (Rizzo from Grease) = the perfect outfit for rainy day walks in DC! I love that this is from Organic John Patrick's resort line; mama and I prefer cool misty mountains to heat-drenched beaches.  Very un-chihuahua of me. 

If only they made this look in pup sizes…
